How many cars have I owned?..

I started thinking a few hours ago (yeah, I've had a glass of single malt), and I realised that I've lost track of how many cars I've owned. Anyone else having the same problem?

I remember my very first one, my dad bought it for me and I had that for about a year. It was a 1979 Opel Kadett 1.2s. Like this.

My next car was a 1986 Nissan Bluebird Estate, a 2.0 litre in two tone grey.. I had that for like 6 months I think. Cant find a picture in the correct colour, so if you don't know what it looks like just google it.

I then bought a 1986 VW Golf GTi 16v with a highly tuned engine, yeah.. GREAT idea that was, I'm surprised I'm still alive. It looked something like this, only lowered about 100-120mm

Had that one for 8 or 9 months, figured out I wanted something older... So I sold that, and got a Mark I VW jetta, I can't remember what year it was (think it was 1981) but it was light blue metallic. And it was RUBBISH.. Broke down on my way home, never got it fixed. So I bought another Opel Kadett, this time a 1979 City.

I then sold that after 4 or 5 months, with a profit.. So I bought a 1986 BMW 520i that had a 528i engine. I don't remember why, but I sold that after just 4-5 weeks, and got a 1988 Nissan Bluebird Sedan, a 2.0 twinspark thingy...

Now here's where things get blurry, I know I at some point had a 1985 Nissan Cherry, a 1997 Audi A3, another Nissan Bluebird Estate.. and a NSU Ro80.. Then I bought a 1997 Honda Civic and finally my 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 GLXi Estate.

The thing is, I know I've had plenty more cars, I did own or at least had a Citroën CX as a daily driver, I know I've had two Mercedes benz W124's as DDs (one coupe and one sedan, both 230s)

At some point there was a 1996 BMW 316i with an auto as well, but I think that one was registered on my dad.

So, am I alone? Or is this something that oppo can relate to?

Too long to friggin' bother readin that shit? I have lost count of how many cars I've owned for the last 14 years.

Edit: I've only listed cars that where DDs.

You owned a NSU Ro80? And you're (if I remember correctly) about 32? Well done!

And no, I haven't had that many. VW Golf (mk2) 1991, Subaru Legacy wagon (1997) and Peugeot 406 coupe (2000). That's it for me. The Peugeot is my current DD, the Golf is still in my possession but stashed away in a barn and the Legacy I only owned for a few months as a rally car, it was never a DD. I'm 30 years old...

Yeah. I found an NSU Ro80 for almost no money... drove it daily for a few weeks... Cool car, but not a great car :P It was in this colour.

And yeah, I'm 32 (well.. so far). I'd say I've owned more than 30 but less than 50 cars in total, but many of them where just things I bought to restore, make a track car... stuff like that. Not that any of them hardly ever did anything else than collect dust :P

I've sold a bunch of cars the two last weeks actually... and this was one of them (well, one like that, but not nearly as well preserved)

1985 Nissan Cherry (the last car my granddad owned before he passed away), 1997 Honda Civic (in desperate need of repair, think I'll build a track car out of it), a 1969 Simca 1501 (just bought it, not in my possesion at the moment) and my Daily Driver... the glorious beigecar.. 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 GLXi wagon.

I dont, I'm only 33 and I owned exactly 1 car and even that one is on technicality. I have never bought a new car ever, but bikes? oh boy, dont want to open that pandora's box.

Oh.. bikes... I'd LOVE to have a bike.. but after I bought a Turbocharged Ninja 600 at the age of 23, and promptly wrecked it, I figured I'm not mature enough for bikes.

I had that idea once. I did it once for my fishing lures when I was like 7, using Lotus 123. I deal with Excel so much at work I would rather just keep editing that post. Speaking of which I have to update it again, picking up an Audi in the morning :)

The first three were brand new. The truck I have now (Ford) was bought with 7,400 miles on it. I have about 101,000 on it currently.

I'll trade it in this coming year for something nice. I'll probably buy a new car (choices: Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn 2WD, CTS-Vsport, or possibly a Chevy SS) just because I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off. But the deciding factor on car vs truck is if my wife gets a minivan (which I am 100% against) or a used Tahoe/Yukon. We don't need two V8s.

Good plan :) Kinda funny to see the difference between Europe and other places though. I have a boat... I can tow it behind my Mitsubishi lancer :P The trailer AND the boat weighs less than a metric ton :) And I do indeed go out fishing bass with it :)

Yeah, my boat is a 22' fiberglass hull (Ranger) with a 150 hp outboard on it. It's a bit on the heavy side. But the lake is so big that it would take ages to get to my fishing spots if I couldn't go 60mph on the water.

Who the hell turbocharged 600 ninja?!! If it's a busa or blackbird I understand but a 636 ninja, the boost lag and peaky power band are not your best friend on bikes. How much power does it make? 150, 180hp?
